There are things we can do to replenish our stores of willpower. Glucose restores it. Prayer, meditation, social connection, sleep, and gratitude restore it, too. ~ Thompson, Susan Peirce. Bright Line Eating (p. 31). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
Did you stop reading at “glucose”?
Or is that the one you remember
upon completing the list?
Remember, if you’re a compulsive eater
you’ve tried the glucose solution…
day after day, week after week,
year after year!!
So, read past the concept that glucose
can help with depleted willpower!
Know it simply hurts far, far more
than it ever could help you.
Know you can get all the glucose
you can effectively use
most fruits, oatmeal, nuts, legumes,
garlic, and yogurt…
must I say, “not together!?”
to get the glucose to help with willpower…
and that prayer, meditation,
social connection, sleep, and gratitude
are there and replenish willpower as well.
But willpower is not required
if you have taken Step Three
and turned your will and your life over
to a Power greater than you!
