Controlling other people has another name…
It’s codependency, excessive emotional
or psychological reliance on a partner,
typically one who requires support
on account of an illness or addiction.
It’s not the invalid/addict
who has a codependency issue.
The codependent person often
takes on a “caretaker” role.
Real power is not the tie that binds many
of us in this trap called codependency.
Real power is detachment when you feel drawn
to rush to the rescue!
