Well, I did it.
It's been three months
and I called you each day,
reported my food,
read what you told me to,
sat in a stupid chair
for fifteen minutes
every day and tried
to pray and meditate.
I did it your way
and I should be able
to show you how wrong
it is, how wrong you are.
But I guess I'll keep on
for a while...
or a lifetime...
but at least today
doing it your way.
It's been three months
and I called you each day,
reported my food,
read what you told me to,
sat in a stupid chair
for fifteen minutes
every day and tried
to pray and meditate.
I did it your way
and I should be able
to show you how wrong
it is, how wrong you are.
But I guess I'll keep on
for a while...
or a lifetime...
but at least today
doing it your way.
(This poem was written as a sequel to I'll Show You.)
