Graduation

Puppies suck love-nuzzling warmth. Mouth to mouth worms give chicks verve. Cats taxi kits by the scruff. Mommies hold bikes and spur nerve. Six week old pups will be weaned, feathered youth pushed from the nest. Frolicking  kittens implore mother to stir from her rest. Animal babies move on, human ones stay on for years. Sometimes I long to clear nests; Other days college means tears.
