Troubles of Our Making

So our troubles, we think, are basically of our own making. They arise out of ourselves, and the alcoholic is an extreme example of self-will run riot, though he usually doesn’t think so. Above everything, we alcoholics must be rid of this selfishness. ~ A.A. World Services Inc. Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition. A.A. World Services, Inc.. Kindle Edition.
Above all, we must be rid of selfishness!
Self- centered? Even Hugh Hefner
detects a problem there!
"It's good to be selfish.
But not so self-centered
that you never listen
to other people."
When we turn to self praise
we're too often self-will run riot.
We can't stand to live that model!
Let's discard self-will today!
