We surrender our lives to God and ask Him for help. When He knows that we’re ready, He gives us by His grace the free gift of sobriety. And we can’t take any credit for having stopped drinking, because we didn’t do it by our own willpower. ~ Anonymous. Twenty Four Hours A Day: Meditations (p. 37). Hazelden Publishing. Kindle Edition.
The first three steps…
I can’t. God can. I think I’ll let God!
We’ve been trying all our lives
to develop the will power it seems
that everyone got but us.
Such a relief when we learn the extent
to which we’re wrong,
that millions of others are powerless!
I can’t. God can. I think I’ll let God! — thank God!
