I am a slow walker, but I never walk back. ~ Abraham LincolnRecovery can be a sudden change or
a sudden spiritual or a gradual spiritual awakening.
Appendix II states "...it is true
that our first printing gave many readers
the impression that these personality changes,
or religious experiences, must be
in the nature of sudden and spectacular upheavals."
But "Most of our experiences
are what psychologist William James
calls the 'educational variety'
because they develop slowly over a period of time."
Once you begin the road to Recovery
even with setbacks, you move forward
toward your goal. Keep walking forward,
never backward and a marvelous change appears.
But you'll be pleased when you reach Serenity
that you never walked back!
