As we receive these gifts of the spirit, we are able to share them with others. Giving them away to our families and friends ensures that we will receive them more abundantly ourselves. ~ L., Elisabeth. Food for Thought: Daily Meditations for Overeaters (Kindle Locations 2773-2774). Hazelden Publishing. There are more gifts of the Spirit
than Paul named, differing numbers
in different places. It seems like, reading,
each person has a single gift...or none.
But God's not miserly in handing out gifts.
We can certainly have more than the first!
Who do you know who has love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, long-suffering,
mildness, faith, modesty, AND self-control?
Do you? Share the gifts you have with all around,
and as you share them, your own stash grows
and soon all around you are the person you want to be
and the crowd becomes your gift to the world.
and dissent and distance disappears
as the world is made better through these gifts.
