Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck. ~ His Holiness the Dalai Lama
I remember several generations
of our family spread out in clumps,
walking off the effects
of having eaten abundantly
at a holiday meal.
Those two or three clumps back
were befuddled by snippets
of conversation grouping
“onions and prayers.”
We talked it through
and learned we heard wrong.
Garth Brooks and others
wrote the song,
“Sometimes I thank God
For unanswered prayers.”
Isn’t that true? Brooks
explained in talking
about it, “…happiness isn’t
getting what you want,
it is wanting what you’ve got.”
What unanswered prayers
have been great gifts in your life?
