One Day at a Time

Each day is a little life; every waking and rising a little birth; every fresh morning a little youth; every going to rest and sleep a little death. ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
We live in the Now.
Yesterday is history.
We may...or may not...
have another day tomorrow.
Today is the present,
a gift from God.
On arising we think about the day
and what may happen,
asking God to direct our thinking
"asking that it be divorced
from self-pity, dishonest
or self-seeking motives."
We seek God's help deciding.
seeking intuition and inspiration.
Meditation and prayer
prepare us for a day
living in the now,
guided along the way.
As the day ends
we consider it,
finding our moments,
good and needing improvement.
And the day of Recovery is done,
ready to be repeated,
one day at a time.
