November begins with All Saints Day,
moves to gratitude for those who serve,
looks forward through the days
to a day to give thanks, a day of love
and gathering with loved ones.
Fall foliage and harvest remind us
of bounty, of the goodness of life.
The eleventh month reminds us
of the message of Step Eleven,
Sought through prayer and meditation
to improve our conscious contact
with God as we understood Him,
praying only for knowledge
of His will for us
and the power to carry that out.
