When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door we do not see the one that has been opened for us. ~ Helen Keller
Tunnel vision.
Defective sight
in which objects
cannot be properly seen
if not close
to the center
of the field of view,
the tendency to focus exclusively
on a single or limited goal
or point of view.
Is the key word in Helen Keller’s quote…
you do notice, I assume,
the irony in the quote and cite (sight?)…
but isn’t the key word happiness?
Do we assume the giver of happiness
has only one situs for it?
If so, our god is too small!
