When we early A.A.’s got our first glimmer of how spiritually prideful we could be, we coined this expression: “Don’t try to be a saint by Thursday!” ~ AA World Services Inc. As Bill Sees It . A.A. World Services, Inc. Kindle Edition.
Spiritually prideful?
Makes sense to me!
A Final Jeopardy answer
all three contestants missed
seeking the name of the first disciple,
I answered “Peter’s brother” quickly
and got to “Andrew” before the deadline.
Yes, I can certainly be “spiritually prideful!!”
But I well know I’m no saint!
I’ve been church staff for three congregations,
have written Methodist and Baptist literature,
have a Masters in Christian education
and was consecrated as a Deaconess…
I knew the Bible and church history
but it wasn’t until I found
the Rooms of Recovery
that I really began to understand
shat it means to turn my will and my life
over to God as I (finally) understand God!
