Sometimes, blame is just an excuse to keep busy so that I don’t have to feel the discomfort of my powerlessness. ~ Family Groups, Al-Anon. Courage to Change—One Day at a Time in Al‑Anon II. Al-Anon Family Groups. Kindle Edition.
When do you want to blame somebody?
Isn’t it true it almost always happens
when you suspect that blame belongs to you?
Sure, you could claim it, but inside
you rebel, aware of the discomfort
inherent in owing it. Who would choose
to admit you are powerless over something
or that you can’t seem to manage it?
So you choose someone else as culprit
forgetting when your finger points to them
four others point back to you!
