Obey the kingʼs command, I say, because you took an oath before God. Do not be in a hurry to leave the kingʼs presence. Do not stand up for a bad cause, for he will do whatever he pleases. Since a kingʼs word is supreme, who can say to him,“What are you doing?” Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a manʼs misery weighs heavily upon him. ~ Ecclesiastes 8:2-6
Who but the king would say this?
Who can say to him
“What’s that you’re up to?”
Somebody foolish.
Somebody brave.
Somebody unafraid of death.
Or worse.
Sometimes a statesman would,
a patriot,
a person who listens to God first
then dares to follow.
Who can say to him
“What’s that you’re up to?”
Somebody foolish.
Somebody brave.
Somebody unafraid of death.
Or worse.
Sometimes a statesman would,
a patriot,
a person who listens to God first
then dares to follow.
God, teach us to pick our fights
but to be willing to fight for you
but to be willing to fight for you
