When we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, it is useless to seek it elsewhere. ~ François de La Rochefoucauld
They speak of the Sea of Tranquility,
looking that way four hundred years past
and seeing peace...not gales of solar wind,
not extreme temperatures, just that seen
from great distance, imagined, constructed
despite reality. Who wouldn't see peace
at a distance, for who would not what tranquility?
But peace comes from the heart, from surrender,
from living the serenity prayer. And eventually
it's not imagination imposed on externals
but reality recognized internally,
living on the Sear of Serenity.
