braided into veracity —
we accept them, rely on them,
consider dissent heresy.
The end of the world comes!
Since this happened, that followed,
reasoning decrees the truth
and we build our lives on it.
Then we finally realize we're not in charge
and wait and see if our conviction
relates in any manner to reality.
