Self-Perceptive

For we had started to get perspective on ourselves, which is another way of saying that we were gaining in humility. ~ AA World Services Inc. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions (p. 48). AA World Services, Inc. Kindle Edition.
Getting a perspective on ourselves?
The dimensional art idea doesn't fit.
We are left with: "a particular attitude toward
or way of regarding something;
a point of view." Are we not possessed
with a self-perspective by the time
we can define the word?
But then there's SPF, Self-perception theory
which would move from observing our own behavior
and deducing attitudes which would have caused it.
But then again, maybe the meaning
really does lie in"the art of drawing solid objects
on a two-dimensional surface
so as to give the right impression
of their height, width, depth, and position
in relation to each other
when viewed from a particular point."
When we see the 3-dimensional us
we see as other people see us,
all equal, all having
inherent value and we become right-sized
in our self-perception,
that is, humble!
