How Did I Do Today?

The idea that we can be possessively loving of a few, can ignore the many, and can continue to fear or hate anybody, has to be abandoned, if only a little at a time. ~ AA World Services Inc. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions (pp. 92-93). AA World Services, Inc. Kindle Edition.
The Eleventh Step suggests
we continue (regularly)
to take personal inventory
and when we've been wrong,
promptly admit it.
To consider feelings
rather than actions and words,
or to focus on the behavior
while excluding feelings
may leave us with a flawed understanding.
Let us consider both tonight
as we review our day,
doing this to delve deeper,
to understand better who we were
this day and who we might have been.
