Infestation

Swarms of them!
Everywhere I go
I'm surrounded
by sweet treats,
by advertisements,
by relatives and friends
insisting I take
"just one bite..."
"I made it just for you..."
"But it's your favorite!"
Now, though, I have pest control
and take one serving
of serenity, of sobriety,
of hope and fly
beyond my wildest dreams
to peace from any infestation.
